Sergio Rodriguez

it work well? Just looking at the rosters a trade of Shaq for Joel Przybilla, Travis Outlaw, Sergio Rodriguez and a first rounder makes perfect sense for both teams. Everyone gets what they want and if it doesn't work out, every player could be eligible for free agency following the season.

other promising young bench players, Portland will have enough minutes to dedicate to players like Sergio Rodriguez and Rudy Fernandez (as well as Augustin) that were previously incredibly hard to come by. I like Jack, Outlaw and Webster a lot (perhaps more than I should), but the team needs the space to test their young assets and some veteran, superstar quality leadership to get them where they want to go.

help the Blazers if they had somebody else to help shoulder that burden.
As for Jarrett Jack and Sergio Rodriguez, they are both tantalizing talents with great potential, however neither has demonstrated the ability to consistently impact the game and help the Blazers win. Jarrett Jack is athletic and has shown the ability to get to the rim and finish in traffic. He can score, and he can pass a little, and he's not terrible on defense either, however Jack has been particularly inconsistent with his shooting, and he has often demonstrated poor decision making while on the floor.
